Dental care in the United States is delivered mostly by private practices: a general or family dentist who handles exams, cleanings, fillings and crowns, and refers out anything that needs a specialist. Group practices and dental clinics put several dentists, hygienists and sometimes specialists under one roof, often with evening and Saturday hours. Most offices ask new patients for a comprehensive exam with X-rays before routine cleanings, which the American Dental Association recommends every six months. Prices are set by each practice, and most accept dental insurance (PPO plans more widely than HMO ones), CareCredit-style financing or an in-house membership plan for people without coverage. Emergency dental services take same-day patients for toothaches, broken teeth and abscesses, usually at a premium.
No hours are on file. If you plan a visit, phone first or check the Google Maps link on this page for the latest times. The listed phone number is (919) 537-3737. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is dentistry.unc.edu, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
Its Google rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 9 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.
Chapel Hill is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Chapel Hill follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

They are wonderful here! My granddaughter has terrible anxiety and they have been so patient and caring with her. For once going to the dentist is not a nightmare! Yes it took some time to get her into the office but we drive 1hr 15min to get her there.

Everything takes forever here. I understand that they're busy, but they are the only place in the entire state besides somewhere out on the coast that does pediatric root canals on certain teeth. My autistic son and and his father had a generally fine experience, until today. Father and son just waited 2 hours and right as dad left, they called ME to tell ME that he could come back in. He had been sitting right where reception could see him and then they grilled him about why he was sitting in one area instead of another when the entire place had been packed and there was nowhere else to sit. He and my son were the only people in the waiting room for a good 20 minutes at the end of their wait and still were ignored. The dentist even came OUT into the lobby and no one directed him towards my son and his father. The receptionist who called me told me the dentist himself was confused, and why? Because they sat in geriatrics because the whole room had been full when they got there? Another receptionist said that they never checked in and when they looked, well, they had been checked in for two whole hours. Again, I know they're intensely busy and the volume is insane, but if you don

This place is a absolute joke. My daughter has a rare genetic disorder and has been in pain for 9 months because of unc pediatric dentistry. They dont call you back, they dont follow up properly and now they are giving us the run around about my daughter not meeting protocol to do surgery on her mouth. Meanwhile, my daughters orthopedic, her dentist and another dental practice that we have reached out to all tell us that unc is the only place she can go to, to have this procedure done in a hospital setting. When you call unc, they deny care but give no alternative route for us to take. My daugter is in pain! We have the best health care coverage and dental coverage that money can buy but unfortunately these clowns dont no what the hell is going on at their own facility. Pathetic to say the least! 1 star is more than they deserve. Do not waist your time with unc!

Dr. Jason Lin is fantastic. Itβs hard to find a dentist thatβs great with young toddlers, but heβs your guy! The entire team in this office is so caring and capable.

We were referred here for My oldest daughter when she was 2. She needed oral surgery and really had a long road ahead of her getting her oral health normal (due to hereditary problems). They treated my baby with the most gentile, sweet and compassionate manner. My baby is now 8, and you would never know what she had gone through as a baby. She doesn't remember a thing and now LOVES to visit the dentist! I have 3 little girls now who come here. They are very thorough and explain everything to the little ones so they don't get scared. They are the most kindest and patient pediatric or any dentists I have ever been to. I'm very thankful to be able to bring my little ones here!
